Fundraising Information
FUNDRAISING POLICY
The Diocesan policy for funding elementary Catholic schools
calls for each school to have
fundraising activities to generate at least 12% of their total
operating budget. School parents are
expected to participate in these fundraising activities to
the best of their ability through monetary
donations, and purchases. Each family is responsible for meeting
a set amount called the
Fundraising Assessment. For the 2011-2012 school
year, the fundraising assessment is $400.00 or buy out for
$450.00. Volunteer is 35 hours or buy out for $450.00.
Here are just a few of the ways you can help raise money
for the school.

LABELS FOR EDUCATION
This year, our school will again be participating in
the Labels for Education® program. Through the program,
we can collect UPCs and beverage caps from participating
products to earn points that can be redeemed for FREE
educational merchandise!
Our goal this year is to collect 18,000 points that
we can redeem for art, music and gym equipment, Smartboard
programs and more. We can even potentially use our points
to help defray the cost of field trips and buses. (Last
year we were able to redeem points for easels, art supplies,
gym equipment, science kits, calculators and a portable
PA system.) It's easy to help-simply save UPCs and beverage
caps from participating products, send them to school
marked "Labels for Education"or drop them
off in the school lobby.

SCRIP
SCRIP is one of our easiest fundraisers! When you purchase
SCRIP, you're purchasing gift certificates and cards
that are used just like cash. You can use SCRIP to purchase
everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials,
and with every purchase, you earn revenue for Holy Trinity!
Holy Trinity buys the SCRIP from Great Lakes Scrip
Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates
for full face value. The discount from 2 to 15% - is
our profit, and counts toward your fundraising goal.
The more we all purchase and use SCRIP, the more Holy
Trinity can make.
SCRIP is a great fundraiser because you spend money
ONLY on items you are already going to purchase. Use
SCRIP for all your needs, whether you like crafting,
eating out, home repair projects, or just shopping,
we have the SCRIP cards for you.
SCRIP is available for purchase 5 days a week from
9-10:00 a.m. at school. In addition SCRIP orders
can be sent in to school with your child and the order
will be filled and sent home the same day! Use the form
below to select your giftcards.

EITC - Donate to HTS instead of paying your state
taxes
Through Pennsylvanias Educational Improvement
Tax Credit (EITC) program, a qualified business can
fund education rather than pay a percentage of its state
taxes. To do this, the business makes a gift, through
the EITC program, to an EITC-registered scholarship
organization or an EITC-registered education improvement
organization. The state Department of Community and
Economic Development (DCED) gives the business a tax
credit equal to a percentage of the businesss
contribution.
To learn more about this great opportunity to help
students through the gift of scholarships, please see
this page from the newpa.com website.

TIGERTHON FOR TECHNOLOGY
In 2009, our entire school participated in our 1st
annual Tigerthon for Technology to raise funds for computer
lab upgrades and miscellaneous fundraising needs. Each
participant raised funds by asking sponsors to contribute
a tax-deductible donation. Students participated in
a day of physical and mental challenges to earn sponsorship
dollars. Students and classes also had an opportunity
to compete for a number of prizes and awards based on
their participation.
We will continue this fundraiser each year and encourage
you to participate.

Catholic School raise $10,000 - $15,000 of the schools
$1.3 million dollar school budget.
Each family is asked to sell March Madness tickets.
