Fundraising Information

FUNDRAISING POLICY
The Diocesan policy for funding elementary Catholic schools calls for each school to have
fundraising activities to generate at least 12% of their total operating budget. School parents are
expected to participate in these fundraising activities to the best of their ability through monetary
donations, and purchases. Each family is responsible for meeting a set amount called the
“Fundraising Assessment.” For the 2011-2012 school year, the fundraising assessment is $400.00 or buy out for $450.00. Volunteer is 35 hours or buy out for $450.00.

Here are just a few of the ways you can help raise money for the school.

Year-Round Opportunities to Benefit HTS

All Shop 'n Save receipts, Box Tops, Campbell's labels, and Tyson labels can be sent in with your child or dropped off at the school office.

ABITIBI BIN RECYCLING

Help Holy Trinity Catholic School. Help the environment. When you drop off your recyclable paper in a Abitibi bin, Holy Trinity Catholic School gets paid. These funds can then be used for many great things like new playground equipment, library books, field trips, teacher training programs and much more. The Recycle program is fun and easy. Just look for the green and yellow bin and put your paper in!

GOODSEARCH

Holy Trinity can earn a donation every time you search the Internet and shop online! Search the web with GoodSearch.com and name Holy Trinity - Robinson Township as your charity.

Shop at GoodShop.com merchants including Amazon, Best Buy, Toy R Us, and many more and a percentage of each purchase will go to our school.

MARKET DAY

Market Day offers a unique selection of products that make great gifts for everyone on your list-and yourself! The best part: a portion of every purchase helps our school! Our school ID is 11883 when you go to marketday.com.

LABELS FOR EDUCATION

This year, our school will again be participating in the Labels for Education® program. Through the program, we can collect UPCs and beverage caps from participating products to earn points that can be redeemed for FREE educational merchandise!

Our goal this year is to collect 18,000 points that we can redeem for art, music and gym equipment, Smartboard programs and more. We can even potentially use our points to help defray the cost of field trips and buses. (Last year we were able to redeem points for easels, art supplies, gym equipment, science kits, calculators and a portable PA system.) It's easy to help-simply save UPCs and beverage caps from participating products, send them to school marked "Labels for Education"or drop them off in the school lobby.

Visit www.labelsforeducation.com for more information.

SCRIP

SCRIP is one of our easiest fundraisers! When you purchase SCRIP, you're purchasing gift certificates and cards that are used just like cash. You can use SCRIP to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for Holy Trinity!

Holy Trinity buys the SCRIP from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates for full face value. The discount from 2 to 15% - is our profit, and counts toward your fundraising goal. The more we all purchase and use SCRIP, the more Holy Trinity can make.

SCRIP is a great fundraiser because you spend money ONLY on items you are already going to purchase. Use SCRIP for all your needs, whether you like crafting, eating out, home repair projects, or just shopping, we have the SCRIP cards for you.

SCRIP is available for purchase 5 days a week from 9-10:00 a.m. at school. In addition SCRIP orders can be sent in to school with your child and the order will be filled and sent home the same day! Use the form below to select your giftcards.

EITC - Donate to HTS instead of paying your state taxes

Through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, a qualified business can fund education rather than pay a percentage of its state taxes. To do this, the business makes a gift, through the EITC program, to an EITC-registered scholarship organization or an EITC-registered education improvement organization. The state Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) gives the business a tax credit equal to a percentage of the business’s contribution.

To learn more about this great opportunity to help students through the gift of scholarships, please see this page from the newpa.com website.

QSP ANNUAL MAGAZINE DRIVE

Holy Trinity holds their annual magazine drive each September. The magazine drive is a great way to help Holy Trinity Catholic School by purchasing a magazine subscription for yourself or someone else - you can also "renew" your current subscriptions. Holy Trinity will receive 40% of each order and these funds will be used to support important goals and programs that benefit our children.

In addition to catalog sales during the drive you can shop year round at www.QSP.com. Go to www.QSP.com, Click on Shop Now! Select Holy Trinity's Account Number 425005471 and choose from over 600 magazines, books and music selections.

TIGERTHON FOR TECHNOLOGY

In 2009, our entire school participated in our 1st annual Tigerthon for Technology to raise funds for computer lab upgrades and miscellaneous fundraising needs. Each participant raised funds by asking sponsors to contribute a tax-deductible donation. Students participated in a day of physical and mental challenges to earn sponsorship dollars. Students and classes also had an opportunity to compete for a number of prizes and awards based on their participation.

We will continue this fundraiser each year and encourage you to participate.

STEELER FOOTBALL POOL AND SUPERBOWL POOL

During Football Season, HTS sponsors a football pool as well as a Superbowl Pool. There are 100 squares on the pool. Each square costs $80.00 - that's just $5.00 per week. The payout is $100 at half time and $200 based on the final score. The total payout for the pool is $4,800 and the profit is $3,200. Contact the school office to buy a square.

SARRIS CANDY SALES

During the Christmas and Easter Holidays, Sarris takes their most popular selections and put them in beautiful, full color sales brochures that the students bring home and are hard to resist!

The candy is not only packaged in the same lovely boxes and containers as found in the Sarris Canonsburg showroom, but is also the same price for the same weight! Sarris does not inflate their prices or cut ounces for fund raisers to earn profit dollars. You can savor the idea of having Sarris products delivered to you at no extra cost AND you're helping out Holy Trinity Catholic School as well.

MARCH MADNESS TICKETS

This fundraiser began in 2006 to help Holy Trinity Catholic School raise $10,000 - $15,000 of the schools $1.3 million dollar school budget.

Each family is asked to sell March Madness tickets. Each ticket contains 3 team numbers from 1-80. In March, there is a team drawing to assign one basketball team to each of the numbers on the tickets. When the March Madness tournaments begins each year, the scores of the 3 teams are cumulating. The highest 8 teams and lowest 3 teams in points will win cash prizes totaling $2,100! As we near March each year, look for more details linked from the home page.
