CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
WEEK
Sunday, January 29th: Opening Mass
for Catholic Schools Week will be held on Sunday, January
29th at 10:00 am. Students are to wear their school
uniforms and follow the school mass day policy. I will
need students to serve as cantors, readers, greeters,
flag bearer, a student to speak during the homily and
gift bearers. Please complete the attached
form if your children will be attending the mass
or if you wish to participate in the mass. The Holy
Trinity School Choir will be singing.
Monday, January 30th: Penny Wars, Classroom
Door Decorating, and Assembly: All students are to wear
their uniforms.
Penny Wars begin so start saving your pennies and silver
coins. All monies will be used for the Homeless Children
Project and go to the Chimbote Mission. See
the attached flyer.
Each classroom will participate in a Door Decorating
Contest based on our Catholic Schools Week theme, "
Faith, Academics, Service."
At 12:45 pm there will be an assembly on Hawks and
Owls. This assembly is sponsored by the Finn Family.
Tuesday, January 31st: Buddy Lunch, and Junior
Achievement Day:
All students must wear their mass uniform.
Today we will have our Buddy Lunch. Each student may
invite one special adult buddy to have lunch with them.
After the assigned lunch period your child may take
their buddy to their classroom for a visit. Please return
the attached form
by January 18th. We are in great need of volunteers
for the Buddy Lunch.
Students from Bishop Canevin High School will be presenting
the Junior Achievement Program to students in grades
K- 8th. This program empowers young people to learn
about economics. It fosters work-readiness, entrepreneurship,
financial literacy skills, and the use of experiential
learning to inspire kids to dream big.
Wednesday, February 1st: Family Service Evening,
Guest Reader, Spelling Bee, Crazy Hat and Dress Down
Day
Students may come to school dressed down and wear a
crazy hat. The 8th graders will read stories to the
students in the younger grades and make a craft.
Spelling Bee: A Spelling Bee will take place today
at 12:45 pm in the cafeteria. This bee will determine
our representative for the Post Gazette Spelling Bee
which is held in March.
Family Service Evening Activity: In the evening, our
families will come together to create bags for The Homeless
Children's Fund. This activity begins at 6:30 pm in
the cafeteria. See

Thursday, February 2nd: Spirit Day:
All students must wear their favorite HTS shirt. Athletes
may wear their HTS team shirt and cheerleaders may wear
their uniforms.
This will be a busy day for the students. We will have
a pep rally, tailgate party and a dance with a DJ. The
pep rally will begin at 1:00 pm and it will be followed
by a tailgate party. Music will be provided by DJ Ray.
Friday, February 3th: Field Trip Day:
Students in grades K - 5 will wear their gym uniforms.
There will be a ski trip to Seven Springs for grades
6-8th.
The students in grades 3-5 will be visiting Carnegie
Science Center.
The students in kindergarten - 2nd grades will be going
to the Children's Museum.
